Through his eleven years’ experience in the construction industry; Omar Hegazy worked in power plants construction, infrastructure, commercial, and residential projects.
He received his Masters of Science degree in Construction Engineering and Management from the Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University. He is also certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP). He received a certification of appreciation from Project Management Institute (PMI) for excellence in volunteer service for his contribution as a speaker in the 2016 PMI Africa Conference in Accra – Ghana. He also received a certification of excellence for his contribution as a speaker in the 2018 Big 5 Construct North Africa in Casablanca – Morocco. He is a research paper reviewer in the IEEE Technology and Engineering Management Society (TEMS); he reviewed research papers for TEMSCON 2017 conference held in Silicon Valley – California, and TEMSCON 2018 conference held in Chicago.
As an athlete; Omar Hegazy represented Egypt three times in the IRONMAN 70.3 (1.9k swim, 90k cycle, 21k run) in Portugal, Bahrain, and Morocco in 2017, 2018, and 2019 respectively. He also finished two marathons (42k run), and finished the 5 kilometers open water swim in two hours at the inaugural edition of OCEANMAN at Sahl Hasheesh, in addition to multiple local olympic distance triathlons and half marathons.
